Genevieve (Jenevieve)

Standing with arms at sides, Godey 1860’s series, tilted forward. Multiple variations exist – plain with ermine trim along coat, tiered net lace ruffles and lace hat, plain skirt with lace hat. Figures are inscribed as Jenevieve but catalogs and order sheets list her has Genevieve. This figure has been imitated by importers and usually shows up in a bright yellow glaze. Always look for a Florence stamp.
